Our 13,000+ team members are united by a shared purpose: to harness the limitless potential of technology and human ingenuity for clients across defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health organizations.

Join a collaborative and caring community where you belong, and where your growth is our priority. As an entry-level analyst, you'll gain hands-on experience, earn industry certifications, and receive structured training that builds on your engineering mindset—applying creativity and analytical thinking to solve real-world challenges.

We're writing the playbook for how to be the most AI-enabled, client-focused, and people-first organization. Our reinventors are driving faster value for clients and shaping the future of government services.

Are you ready to reinvent what's possible?

It's your career, your life, and your choice. Let's build something that matters—together.

The Opportunity

At AFS, our Software Engineering Analysts are at the forefront of building mission-critical solutions for the U.S. federal government. You'll begin your journey with immersive training in full-stack development, cloud-native engineering, and modern software practices—preparing you to tackle real-world challenges with cutting-edge tools.

In this role, you'll apply your engineering mindset to design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable software systems that integrate advanced AI capabilities. You'll work side-by-side with teammates to solve complex problems across defense, national security, and civilian sectors—leveraging the power of Gen AI and emerging technologies to deliver faster value.

What You'll Do:

  • Experiment and be an early adopter of emerging technologies and next-generation IT tools, including genitive AI, intelligent agents, and edge computing
  • Leverage advanced engineering frameworks such as Agentic AI to accelerate solution development and automate complex workflows.
  • Design and build full-stack applications using languages like Python, Java, and JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Node.js, and Spring Boot.
  • Deploy cloud-native solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP using containers (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless functions, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Integrate AI/ML models into production systems using various tools, optimizing for performance, stability, and ethical use.
  • Collaborate in agile teams to deliver secure, resilient, and innovative software that supports federal missions and improves citizen services.

What You'll Learn

  • AI engineering fundamentals, including model deployment, orchestration, and responsible AI practices.
  • Agentic system design and how autonomous agents can drive mission outcomes.
  • DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) tailored for federal environments.
  • How to rapidly prototype and iterate using modern engineering methods and cloud-native architectures.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field, with a graduation date no later than August 31, 2026.
  • Strong foundation in programming languages and familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • U.S. citizenship required (due to federal contract requirements)
  • Ability to travel 25-50% preferred, but requirements vary by team and location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong academic track record (3.0 cumulative GPA required, 3.2 cumulative GPA preferred) from a 4-year accredited institution.
  • Coursework or hands-on experience in multiple programming languages, modern frameworks, architectures, databases, cloud platforms, and AI/ML.
  • Experience with full-stack development frameworks and knowledge of secure coding practices and software testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and exposure to Agentic AI concepts or autonomous system design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

Work Model

Our people-first culture prioritizes the benefits of flexibility and collaboration, whether that happens in person or remotely.

  • If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you'll periodically work from an Accenture Federal or client site facility.
  • If this position is listed as onsite, you'll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for a specific role.

This is more than a job—it's a launchpad for a technical career in federal innovation. Whether you aspire to be a cloud engineer, AI integration specialist, or software architect, we'll support your growth with mentorship, certifications, and access to the latest technologies through the Analyst Development Program (ADP).
