Job description

DevOps Engineer AWS Migration & Networking Specialist (Contract)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Migration & Networking Specialist. This role is focused on executing a well-defined cloud migration plan and resolving complex AWS networking constraints. The architecture and sequencing are already established your responsibility will be to deliver the migration end-to-end with precision and reliability.

This is a hands-on execution role with no application feature development required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute cross-account migration of containerized services into a target AWS environment with rollback-safe cutover strategies
  • Diagnose and resolve VPC IP exhaustion issues through CIDR expansion aligned with governance policies
  • Apply all infrastructure changes using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/CDK); console-based changes are not permitted
  • Perform data, credentials, and secrets migration ensuring integrity and security compliance
  • Deploy and validate applications in a Kubernetes-based environment
  • Troubleshoot networking issues including ENI utilization, routing, and connectivity across accounts
  • Ensure migration observability via monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Deliver comprehensive runbooks and reproducible IaC artifacts for long-term maintainability

Required Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in AWS core services: VPC, IAM, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EventBridge, CloudWatch
  • Advanced AWS networking knowledge: CIDR management, IPAM, Transit Gateway, secondary CIDR, ENI diagnostics
  • Proven experience with cross-account AWS migrations
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or CDK using TypeScript)
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with secrets management, OAuth flows, and credential migration
  • Solid Linux, scripting, and CLI skills (AWS CLI, Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, dashboards, alerts)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale enterprise cloud platforms or internal developer platforms
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional or Advanced Networking Specialty)
  • Familiarity with event-driven systems or automation tooling (e.g., bots, messaging integrations)
