Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This entry-level accounting role will support daily accounting operations, general ledger activities, annual financial close processes, tax-related reporting, and financial data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to leverage NetSuite and other business systems to gather, analyze, and report financial information.

Responsibilities

General Accounting
  • Prepare and record journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting activities as needed.
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Review transactions and account balances to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Assist with month-end accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules, reports, and documentation.
Tax and Compliance Support
  • Assist with gathering information for federal, state, and local tax filings.
  • Support sales and use tax reporting activities.
  • Compile and organize documentation requested by external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Help ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Data Gathering and Financial Analysis
  • Extract, compile, and analyze financial data using NetSuite and other reporting tools.
  • Create recurring and ad hoc reports for finance leadership.
  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining financial dashboards and metrics.
Process Improvement
  • Participate in efforts to improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
  • Recommend enhancements to reporting processes and system utilization.
  • Support special projects and finance initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience, including internships or relevant coursework.
