As of Aug 3, 2026, the average hourly pay for entry level atm security guard in the United States is $19.03, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.38 and $18.75 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How can I get into security with no experience?

Entry-level ATM security guard positions typically require a high school diploma or equivalent and may require a security license or certification depending on local regulations. Gaining basic security training, such as first aid or surveillance skills, and applying for entry-level security jobs can help start a security career without prior experience.

What jobs pay $4000 a week without a degree?

Entry-level ATM security guard positions typically do not pay $4000 a week; such high earnings usually require advanced experience, specialized skills, or supervisory roles. Jobs that can pay this amount without a degree are rare and often involve high-risk environments, sales commissions, or entrepreneurial ventures. Most high-paying roles without a degree focus on skilled trades, sales, or business ownership rather than entry-level security positions.

What are the most common challenges faced by entry level ATM security guards, and how can they be addressed?

Entry level ATM security guards often face challenges such as managing high-alert situations, dealing with the unpredictability of public spaces, and maintaining vigilance during long, sometimes solitary shifts. To address these challenges, new guards benefit from thorough training in situational awareness, conflict de-escalation, and regular communication with their security team or supervisor. Many companies also rotate shifts and assign guards in pairs at high-risk locations to reduce fatigue and improve response capabilities. Staying updated with standard security protocols and building strong teamwork skills can make day-to-day tasks safer and more manageable.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level ATM Security Guard, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level ATM Security Guard, you need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong attention to detail, and basic security training or certification. Familiarity with surveillance equipment, communication devices, and incident reporting systems is typically required. These skills and qualities are crucial for maintaining the safety of ATM locations, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring secure operations.

How to apply as a security guard without experience?

Entry-level ATM security guard positions typically do not require prior experience; applicants should focus on obtaining a valid security guard license if required in their area, demonstrate reliability, and highlight any relevant skills such as observation or communication. Completing a basic security training course can improve chances of employment and prepare for on-the-job responsibilities.

What are entry level ATM security guards?

Entry level ATM security guards are security professionals responsible for protecting automated teller machines (ATMs) and the surrounding area from theft, vandalism, and other security threats. Their duties typically include monitoring ATM locations, reporting suspicious activity, ensuring the safety of customers, and sometimes replenishing cash or troubleshooting minor ATM issues. These guards often work for security companies or banks and may be assigned to patrol multiple locations. Entry level positions usually require a high school diploma, basic security training, and sometimes state certification or licensing. The role provides valuable experience for those interested in a security or law enforcement career.
