What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for an energetic, cooperative and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen culinary team!

The ideal candidate works well with others and is highly dependable, as well as takes pride in maintaining cleanliness standards and being able to manage high-pressure situations to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Position Summary: The Kitchen Steward is responsible for dishwashing, sanitation, waste removal, and assisting with basic kitchen support tasks while adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

This is a great entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the food and beverage or hospitality industry, offering exposure to kitchen operations and the chance to grow within a supportive team environment.

Scheduling: This is a Full-Time position, working 5 days a week; flexible availability required across AM, PM, and Mid-Shift rotations. Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends, holidays, and special event periods based on hotel business demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, back-of-house areas, and food service equipment meet luxury cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Operate large commercial dishwasher equipment to wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Hand Scrub pots and pans; Burnish, de-tarnish, and polish silver.
  • Properly handle/store dinnerware, glassware, silverware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Deep cleaning and preventive maintenance for kitchen and stewarding equipment.
  • Remove trash and food waste according to safety standards
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and supplies are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic support tasks as needed
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
  • Report safety or maintenance concerns promptly.

What are we looking for?

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous stewarding or commercial dishwashing experience in a full-service restaurant, or similar food service environment, preferably with a hotel.

REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to effectively understand and communicate with staff.
  • Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position operates in a fast-paced hospitality environment with exposure to heat, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and high-volume food service operations.
  • Constant standing, walking, and moving throughout the culinary areas.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Extend arms fully; frequent reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, and stooping
