Advanced Assembly Inc. (AAI), located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add Machine Operator I positions to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products. These full time positions offer a First Shift schedule of Monday - Thursday 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM and Friday 5:30 AM - 9:30 AM, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. Job Description: Machine Operators are responsible for every day machine operation of the Surface Mount (SMT), Coating, Wave or AOI equipment. Primarily, this is an entry-level Machine Operator position.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).

  • Follow directions, read from and interpret written instructions
  • Make sound judgments while operating production equipment
  • Organize responsibilities to achieve maximum output to meet production and quality requirements
  • Understand and follow all applicable quality system procedures and perform all assigned responsibilities outlined in the quality system
  • Keep work areas neat and organized
  • Follow established product handling procedures consistently
  • Setup, run and tear down jobs on each of the production lines
  • Operate the SMT line, Wave, coating or AOI equipment
  • Provide general assistance to the workflow when and where needed
  • Perform daily cleaning of machine as needed
  • Follow the daily checklist
  • Communicate with the Automation Technicians, Supervisor or Team Leads on quality issues
  • Verify parts on the line
  • Assist Automation Technicians as needed
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language
  • Knowledge of SMT, Wave, AOI or coating equipment preferred but not required
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good verbal skills and written skills to communicate well in a diverse team environment
  • Ability to fill out daily records and logs
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit detail, and tones

  • Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks.
  • Physical ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly using hands to complete the task at a constant rate so the assembly line will not be interrupted.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to work with small electronic parts.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis.
