Job description

Lewis & Clark Law School, located in beautiful Portland, Oregon, invites applications for five faculty positions beginning in July 2027. We welcome applications from candidates across all areas of legal scholarship. We are particularly interested in candidates committed to teaching one or more of the following subjects:

  • Animal Law (entry level)
  • Environmental and Natural Resources Law (two positions); we are particularly interested in candidates who would teach natural resources classes (including Public Lands Law, Water Law, Wildlife Law, and other related topics) and/or International Environmental Law, as well as core classes including Property Law (entry level)
  • Wills & Trusts, including the ability to teach first-year courses (entry level)
  • Required and core courses such as Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Ethics, Evidence, Property, and Torts (entry level)
  • Intellectual Property (lateral)

All positions are tenure-track under our unitary tenure system.

Candidates must hold a J.D. (or equivalent) and should demonstrate a record of academic excellence; meaningful academic or practice experience; a passion for teaching and service; and a record of, or strong potential for, scholarly achievement.
