Job description

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must be able to perform minor troubleshooting techniques on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform daily planned and unplanned maintenance functions as needed with minimum support.
  • Operate machine tools such as drill press, power saw, etc. following company safety training
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work in and around all species and types of animals.
  • Perform common painting and minor drywall repairs.
  • Ability to perform minor plumbing work and services.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical repairs (i.e.: ballast replacement, lamp replacement, receptacle replacement, light switches, etc.).
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED, vocational school preferred; experience or any combination which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work afternoons / evenings
    • Wednesday through Saturday
    • 8pm to 6:30am
  • Driver's License with clean driving record within the last 3 years.
  • Safety Critical position subject to random drug screening.
PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
  • In good health and capable of performing strenuous and/or heavy physical labor
  • No history of allergy related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work
  • Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop
  • Ability to climb ladders, step ladders, scaffolding to heights of 25'.
  • Physical strength, including ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Immunocompetence (possible exposure to infections and parasitic disease)
Note: Position may involve exposure to inclement weather, dust, potentially dangerous an unpredictable animal species, and potentially dangerous machinery, restraint devices and toxic chemicals and/or drugs. Occasional use of protective clothing or equipment is required e.g. goggles, mask, gloves, and gowns. WHAT YOU'LL GET:
