Job Title: Entry Level Financial Analyst
Job Description
The Entry Level Analyst is responsible for processing complex transactions and reconciliations related to loan and security payments, with a strong focus on data accuracy, financial analysis, and compliance. This role involves detailed review and analysis of pooled loan data from multiple mortgage servicers, ensuring variances are identified, researched, and resolved. The position requires regular use of multiple database systems, including Microsoft Excel, and close collaboration with a team in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
  • Process the most complex transactions and reconciliations related to loan and security payments with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide remittance and correction information to servicers to ensure accurate payment processing and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze pooled loans to identify non-compliance issues and communicate findings clearly to investors.
  • Evaluate servicer performance to ensure compliance with stated agreements and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Participate in system enhancements by attending user groups and performing testing to validate new features and changes.
  • Identify, document, and communicate processing exceptions that may impact similar series across individual portfolios.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of key functional areas, including Collateral, Securities, Default, and Trust Administration.
  • Perform data entry, accounting, and detailed analyses of pooled loan data from various mortgage servicers using multiple database systems.
  • Use Microsoft Excel regularly, including advanced functions, to reconcile data, identify variances, and ensure that all discrepancies are properly accounted for.
  • Research and interpret controlling legal documents when issues arise related to collateral or bond payments to ensure proper treatment and compliance.
  • Work closely with team members in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment to meet recurring monthly analysis deadlines.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff as needed and review their processing and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Propose recommendations for process improvements and implement automated solutions on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support Default and Trust Administration activities by ensuring that data and documentation are complete, consistent, and compliant.
  • Manage workload effectively in a deadline-driven environment, including working overtime during peak periods to complete required analyses.

Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions.
  • Ability to perform detailed business and financial analysis on pooled loan and security data.
  • Strong data management skills, including data entry, reconciliation, and variance analysis across multiple systems.
  • Solid understanding of finance, accounting, or related quantitative disciplines.
  • Capacity to research and interpret controlling legal documents related to collateral and bond payments.
  • Ability to maintain working knowledge of Collateral, Securities, Default, and Trust Administration functions.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills to identify trends, discrepancies, and compliance issues.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey findings and exceptions to servicers, investors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, or a related field.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
