Job description

Plymouth Industries is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Purchasing Analyst to support purchasing activities for our custom manufacturing operations. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in building a career in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing. The Purchasing Analyst will receive training and work closely with company leadership, suppliers, engineering, and production to help ensure materials, components, and outside services are ordered accurately and delivered on time.

    $23-$30/hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities:
    Prepare and submit purchase orders using information provided by approved suppliers and internal team members.
    Request pricing, availability, and delivery information from suppliers.
    Follow up on open purchase orders and communicate delivery updates to the appropriate departments.
    Verify order confirmations, quantities, pricing, and expected delivery dates.
    Assist with sourcing standard components, equipment, materials, and outside services.
    Maintain accurate supplier, purchase order, pricing, and delivery records.
    Help monitor inventory levels and identify materials that may need to be reordered.
    Communicate routine order discrepancies, shortages, and late deliveries to suppliers and internal team members.
    Support supplier performance tracking and help maintain positive vendor relationships.
    Work with engineering, production, accounting, and other departments to clarify purchasing needs.
    Learn Plymouth Industries' products, manufacturing processes, purchasing procedures, and ERP system.
    Assist with other purchasing and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
    Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate work.
    Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    Basic math, organization, and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on assigned tasks.
    Comfort working independently and as part of a team.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
    Willingness to learn purchasing software, ERP systems, manufacturing terminology, and supplier processes.
Experience:
    No previous purchasing experience is required; manufacturing, office, customer service, scheduling, or inventory experience is helpful.
Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent required.
    Associate degree, bachelor's degree, technical training, or coursework in business, supply chain, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
    Zero to two years of related experience. Recent graduates and candidates seeking a career change are encouraged to apply.
