Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator will work to provide various levels of support to the Logistics Broker team and our customers. With frequent daily check-ins they will monitor freight for efficient pick-up and delivery. They will collaborate internally with the Logistics Brokers, and directly with third party carriers. They will excel in this role if they are diligent workers who communicate clearly with various partners to gather and report information regarding load status. They must be proactive about reporting abnormalities that they seek from carriers such as early arrivals, delays during transportation and/or late delivery estimates. The information gathered and communicated to the operations team will be a key contribution to the success of the overall department. This a great role for an entry-level candidates or recent graduates!

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with carriers for updates on load status from after they pick up until delivery, with consistent follow ups during transit
  • Seek load details such as arrival and departure times, truck locations and transit issues
  • Ensure the internal system (TMW) is up to date with accurate details provided by the carriers, including arrival, departure times and each stop on the travel route along with any information that affects rate changes in real time
  • Escalate and communicate with the CXR and CPS teams if issues are identified at any point, such as: late pickups, missed appointments and delays on the road that will cause disruptions
  • Be the first person on the operations team to know of any changes regarding delays and late deliveries and directly inform the correct people on the operations team
  • Predict ETA and travel times using available mileage information and note any potential delays
  • Follow weather reports to forecast disruptions on particular lanes
  • Be proactive and reach out to carriers after they reach out to you
  • Provide consistency with communication so carriers recognize your commitment to the load
  • Adhere to the performance standards set in the KPI schedule

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work in-office Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm EST
  • Proficient with the use of a computer, including Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Geographic knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with time sensitive information

Preferred

  • Previous experience using TMW or other logistic software
  • Previous experience in supply chain logistics environment would be considered an asset
