Software Engineer 1 OASYS, INC., a Leading-Edge Government contractor, is seeking applicants for a Software Engineer 1 to support our customer in Huntsville, AL. OASYS, INC. is seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer (0-2 years) with the right composition of knowledge, experience, and drive to develop software from front-end to back-end. The candidate will contribute to the design and development of the next generation of modeling and simulation tools for DoW medical planning. The modernization effort will transition our planning tools from desktop applications to web applications while integrating with external systems to facilitate seamless and rapid ingestion of external datasets. Position Responsibilities: Development
Implement front-end or back-end features.
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize web application performance.
Support debugging and troubleshooting of development, test, and production issues.
Team Collaboration
Participate in full software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, deployment) in a CMMI Maturity Level 3 environment.
Work in a software development team with support from teams of designers, system engineers, testers, and technical writers.
Work closely with User Interface (UI) / User Experience (UX) designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional interfaces.
Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate APIs and services.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Communicate progress clearly to mentors and/or team leaders.
Learning & Continuous Improvement
Learn and follow best practices in modular design, code reuse, and maintainability.
Learn new technologies, tools, and workflows (e.g., .NET, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps).
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends.
Recommend improvements to enhance user experience and system performance. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Requires Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
0-2 years of experience in software development. Preferred Technical Skills: Strong foundation in an object-oriented programming language (C#, C++, Java, etc.)
Basic knowledge of the following software engineering concepts:
Object‑oriented programming (classes, interfaces, encapsulation, inheritance).
Data structures and algorithms (arrays, lists, stacks/queues, hash maps).
Software design principles (modularity, separation of concerns).
Basic knowledge of our technology stack:

Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) code generation tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
