Job description

We are looking for a strong Software Development Engineer to work with a team responsible for building core onboarding components for the next generation IAM Control Plane architecture.
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables customers to secure their workloads in the cloud by providing authentication and authorization mechanisms to all of AWS. We enable our customers to manage their credentials and access policies in the AWS cloud. We operate some of the largest distributed systems in the world, processing billions of transactions per second world-wide.
The IAM Control Plane teams are working on the next generation architecture for IAM aiming to improve the scaling, and availability of the system

This team will be responsible for designing, building and delivering on core storage fleet management components, including workloads for building fleets, remediating failures, managing data replication, providing disaster recovery capabilities and similar.
Key job responsibilities

You will provide a service that is core to all AWS services.
You will be in charge of the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, implementing, and testing new features for Identity and Access globally distributed backend store.
You have very strong design abilities to build scalable systems.
You will operate an AWS business with globally distributed servers and customers.
You will own one of the lowest latency, highest throughput and availability services in all of AWS.
You will understand what it takes to grow and operate a global distributed backend store at our scale.
You will provide technical solutions that not only meet the current needs but also consider the future, promoting simplicity and ease of maintainability.
Your solutions will be designed in such a way that they can be easily understood and contributed to by other team members.

A day in the life
A day in SDE-III life starts with team standup to review the sprint tasks and on-call tickets. You engage in the tasks team has delivered identify and spearhead blockers and question the design and operational decision to understand the feasibility

You own the services end to end and provide proactive inputs that are data driven. You mentor SDE-II and guide them to the solutions and data. You contribute in team prioritization and roadmap decisions.

You identify customer problems and dig deeper than surface level solutions.
