Job description

Interested in building the foundational platform layer for an enterprise-scale Gen AI product. Our team - Quick Core Experience - powers Amazon Quick, an agentic AI-powered digital workspace used by enterprise customers for contextual AI assistance, custom agents, research, BI, and workflow automation. We own the critical platform capabilities that every feature in the product relies on: asset metadata services (search, indexing, favorites, recents, lists), brand and experience customization, the core design system, and the experiences that drive feature discoverability.

We continuously tackle hard, cross-cutting problems such as 1/ designing high-throughput indexing pipelines that unify asset writes across dozens of producer teams, 2/ building real-time customization services that scale across regions and tenants, and 3/ defining the long-term data architecture (OpenSearch, DynamoDB, multi-datastore) that underpins search and discovery for the entire platform.
We are looking for a Senior SDE who will operate as a technical leader for program-sized bodies of work across the full software development lifecycle - working backwards from customers through design, implementation, testing, deployment, operations, and documentation.
Key job responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of distributed data pipelines and systems, providing system-wide architectural guidance
* Balance speed of execution with architectural requirements, identifying one-way door decisions that require the right long-term solution
* Drive adoption of engineering best practices and operational excellence across the team
* Solve complex technical problems with multiple risks and roadblocks, bringing clarity through simple, well-designed solutions
* Mentor and coach multiple engineers, helping develop the next generation of technical talent
Effectively communicate technical designs to both technical and non-technical audiences
About the team
Amazon Quick is an enterprise AI platform that serves as an agentic, AI-powered digital workspace - integrating with customer data to provide contextual AI assistance including natural language chat, custom AI agents, research tools, business intelligence, workflow automation, and multi-agent automation. The Core Experience team owns critical platform capabilities including asset metadata services (search, favorites, recents, and lists), the core design system, brand and experience customization, and key experiences that enable feature discoverability across the platform.
