Job description

Express Employment Professionals is looking for a Press Brake Operator. This role is a skilled position responsible for operating an AMADA press brake. The shift is from 3:30pm-12pm. The key is your ability to set up and operate the machine for complex bends. A set-up operator who can look at a blueprint, enter the dimensions into the machine, select the right tooling, bend the part, check for tolerance and know how to adjust the machine for variances.

**Main Job Duties:

**

  • Perform brake operations on AMADA style brake machinery according to specifications of work orders and fabrication prints/drawings with supervision

  • Interpret technical drawings accurately

  • Adjust and manipulate tooling to achieve precise dimensions

  • Understand how to work with and manipulate raw materials effectively

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings or fabrication prints as needed for accurate and safe brake operation

  • Understand dimensional tolerances and calculations for bend deductions and bend allowances

  • Follow work order directions and safely produce required quantity of parts efficiently and within the required tolerance and cosmetic quality

  • Adhere to all company safety regulations, including those regarding machine operation and proper guarding

  • Perform “in-process” inspections to prove dimensional tolerance and complete related documentation

  • Confirm operations in ERP system

  • Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment

  • Complete production orders after initial setup and production order documentation

  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned brake press equipment

  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications

  • Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem

  • Follow instructions as provided by supervisor

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area

  • Other duties as assigned

**Education:

**

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required

**Experience:

**

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sheet metal precision press brake operations is required
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

**Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

**

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or mechanical drawings involving brake operations
  • Knowledge of how to operate AMADA style Brake machinery or AMADA ASTRO robotic brake machinery
  • Ability to operate machines safely and properly
  • Familiarity with shop equipment such as table, panel and chop saws and kick and drill presses
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift is required
  • Ability to hear, speak, kneel, bend and use a step ladder or stool is required
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds is required
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment is required
