Wintermute is a global company with offices in London and Singapore. It opened its US office in early 2025 and it is set to grow significantly over the next several years. It's a unique opportunity to play a role in the early rapid expansion of Wintermute Americas.

What you will work on

We are looking to hire a Sales Trader who will become a crucial member of the Wintermute US trading team. We are looking for someone with a strong background in OTC and a proven track record in sales trading. As a Sales Trader, you will play a crucial role in OTC business growth by trading and expanding relationships with Wintermute trading counterparties.

You will have the opportunity to have an impact on OTC growth, offer your own growth ideas and get guidance from our best-in-class trading team. Wintermute is a leading OTC desk in the cryptocurrency markets, offering principal liquidity across the full range of OTC products, from 500+ tokens in spot to all major OTC derivatives, including CFDs, options, futures and tailored products. We have over 2,000 counterparties and a great room to grow overall and in the US specifically. We have no legacy processes, no corporate bureaucracy, yet the highest standards of professionalism and a very dynamic and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Take full ownership of OTC trading during US hours, from quoting trades to maintaining relationships with trading counterparties to increase trading activity
  • Work closely with senior traders to price and quote larger and more exotic trades
  • Evaluate and mitigate trading risks by using risk management strategies.
  • Work with the business development team to create and contribute to the OTC sales strategy
  • Leverage internal market commentary and research resources to provide additional value-add to counterparties; being able to generate own market color/research is an advantage
  • Participate in relevant conferences, events, and networking opportunities to expand our counterparty base and stay ahead of market trends.
Hard Skills Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or related field, such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or Engineering

  • Strong trading knowledge of OTC spot trading
  • Trading knowledge of derivatives products is a significant advantage; ability to learn pricing of derivatives is required (we will test)
  • Experience in a HFT/algorithmic trading  business would be a plus.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills (we will test)
  • Strong interest and curiosity in blockchain, crypto and DeFi - you like keeping track of major news and developments the crypto world.
Here is why you should join our dynamic team:
  • Opportunity to work at the world's leading algorithmic trading firm in digital assets.
  • Engaging projects offering accelerated responsibilities and ownership growth compared to traditional finance environments.
  • A vibrant working culture with team events, celebrations and company wide team building events.
  • A cool office in the heart of New York City which often hosts some of the leading industry events
  • Great company culture: informal, non-hierarchical, ambitious, highly professional yet with a startup vibe, collaborative and entrepreneurial.
  • A performance-based compensation with a significant earning upside  alongside standard perks like private medical insurance
Note:
