A&P Mechanic w/ Helicopter Experience Preferred

Description

Precision Air is looking for an A&P Mechanic with helicopter experience. Preferred experience on MD-500 and Bell Helicopters. The mechanic will provide inspection, repair and modification services on aircraft to ensure they are operating correctly and safely.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

The A&P Mechanic will perform repairs, maintenance, and modifications in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, Repair Station manual, and manufacturer’s instructions with little to no supervision, to include performing off-site maintenance and travel. Specifics include:

  • Maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and alteration of aircraft and aircraft engines to FAA or military airworthiness standards. (Piston & Turbine engine).
  • Reads and interprets manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, engineering drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform structural repairs on metal and composite aircraft to procedures in aircraft structural repair manual, engineering drawings or AC 43-13.
  • Use hand, shop, sheet metal, precision, and calibrated tools.
  • Perform line station maintenance to keep aircraft in flyable and safe operating condition.
  • Operate ground equipment such as tugs, power carts and forklift.

Job Requirements
  • Knowledge and ability to work aircraft mechanical systems, airframe structures, powerplants, propellers, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarization with aircraft track and balance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and process specifications.
  • Ability to perform simple to moderate sheet metal and composite repairs.
  • Knowledge in the use of OEM Manuals.
  • Knowledge of aircraft records and maintenance entries.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience/Requirements and Physical Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years Aircraft Mechanic experience on rotor wing aircraft.
  • Acceptable completion or drug screening & background check requirements.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, etc.

  • Must have a basic set of hand tools required to perform duties and responsibilities.
