Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and monitoring of building mechanical systems across a portfolio of Edison buildings and properties.

This role oversees daily maintenance operations, preventive maintenance programs, testing and inspections of heating systems, HVAC equipment and other mechanical systems used to run the building effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain heating systems, HVAC equipment, and associated mechanical systems
  • Perform regular inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance
  • Respond to service calls and mechanical emergencies in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and building system issues
  • Maintain accurate logs and maintenance records in compliance with provincial regulations
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers as required
  • Assist with general building maintenance duties as needed
  • Support the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Develop and maintain inspection schedules for mechanical systems (e.g., elevators, fire suppression systems) to ensure code compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of building assets and maintenance activities.

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in building operations or property management (preferred)
    • Valid 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate required.
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, pumps, and building automation systems
    • Working knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Experience with Yardi or similar property management software is considered an asset.
    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
    • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
    • Ability to work outside normal business hours during peak operational periods.
    • Participation in an on-call rotation as required.
    • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 kg.
