Production Packaging Associate

A large plastic container producer/distributor is looking for help in Berwick, PA. Currently there are the following shifts available:
Monday-Thursday

7:30AM-4PM
3:30PM-12AM
11:30PM-8AM
Friday-Sunday
5:30AM-6PM
5:30PM-6AM
Payrates:$18.50-$22.05 depending on shift
Position Summary

The Production Packaging Associate is an entry-level role responsible for the proper packaging of materials and finished products. This position also supports production operations by loading and moving materials, operating packaging equipment, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).


Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled work hours

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to meet production goals

  • Comply with all company General Manufacturing Policies

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards

  • Monitor conveyor lines and clear bottle jams as needed

  • Collect and dispose of dropped bottles according to procedures

  • Operate grinder equipment for discarded bottles when applicable

  • Inspect bottles during production, packaging, and labeling to ensure quality standards

  • Perform required quality checks, including drop tests on designated lines

  • Immediately report defects, abnormalities, or quality concerns

  • Monitor packaging material levels and restock as needed

  • Ensure accurate labeling, bottle descriptions, and packaging per customer specifications

  • Move finished products to designated storage areas

  • Set up and maintain organized workstations to support efficient shift transitions

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

  • Responsibilities may vary depending on plant equipment and layout


QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience
  • Basic math skills required

  • Basic computer experience required

Training
  • Completion of Production/Packaging Associate I training within 90 days of hire


Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking

  • Regular use of hands for handling, reaching, and grasping

  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
