Job description

Job title: 3D Modeling Technicianย 
Reports to: Design Supervisorย 
Supervisory responsibilities: None.ย ย 
Summary/objective: Dienamic Tooling Systems (DTS) is looking for a 3D Modeling Technician to add to their team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have some level of experience with 3D scanning and modeling.ย ย 
Essential functions:ย ย 

  • Capture FARO scan data on-site and at customer facilities using laser scanners and survey tools.ย 
  • Create 3D models for tooling needsย 
  • Process laser scan data, including: cleaning, segmenting large areas, archiving raw and processes scans, and exporting into customer specified formatsย 
  • Work closely with company leadership, clients, engineers, planners, and other industry professionalsย 
  • Maintain proper care of the company equipment; ensure security and safety for all equipment and accessories.ย 
Required competency, education, and experience:ย ย 
  • Degree or certificate in Machine Tool Technology or other Engineering related field.
  • Experience with Solidworksย 
  • Ability to perform quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlinesย 
  • Ability to adhere to all industry standards in designย 
  • Excellent verbal communication skillsย 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high degree of accuracyย 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside the company in a professional manner and the ability to work in a team environmentย 
Preferred education and experience:ย ย 
  • 3D Scanning experienceย 
  • General understanding of the Tool and Die Industryย 
  • Experience with other 3D Modeling Softwareย 
  • Understanding of GD&Tย 
  • Print reading experienceย 
Work environment: Manufacturing environment.ย 
Physical demands:ย ย 
  • Ability to use a computer for a prolonged amount of timeย 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.ย 
  • Ability to use hands, wrists, fingers.ย 
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.ย 
  • Employee must possess visual acuity to operate necessary machines and computers.ย 
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.ย 
  • Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away.ย 
  • Ability to use fingers to grasp and move very small and large objects.ย 

Position type and expected hours of work: Full-time, day shift. Some overtime may be required when workloads are heavy.ย ย 
Travel: Less than 5%. Most travel is within driving distance โ€“ trips are made in one day or only require one overnight stay.ย ย
