What We're Looking For:

The Advanced Data Capture (ADC) group designs, develops and brings to market the highest quality and performance imaging-based readers for use in retail, warehouse, and factory applications. The Electrical Engineer II is an important part of a highly collaborative team helping to innovate and release those world class products while learning and growing in their career.
***Role is required to be onsite in the Mississauga, Canada office. (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).Responsibilities:
  • Works as part of a larger team led by more senior engineers to design, develop and test new data capture products

  • Collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team including Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Optical and Manufacturing Engineers

  • Occasionally interfaces with external partners, vendors and customers

  • Reviews test results and performs root cause analyses to identify problems

  • Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers.

  • Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.

  • Responsible for circuit development and schematic entry

  • Performs electrical component selection

  • Creates and tests prototypes at the component or circuit level to verify they meet design requirements

  • Uses common electrical test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meters, Power Supplies, Frequency Generators, Logic analyzers, etc.

  • Directs and works with technicians to perform testing

  • Documents test requirements and results to ISO 9000 standards

  • Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.

  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.

  • Makes changes to or upgrades existing electrical designs. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree and Minimum 2+ years of experience (Bachelor's degree required - Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.)ORMaster's degree with Minimum 1+ year of experience

  • ElectronicHardware Design Experience

  • Experience with common electrical test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meters, Power Supplies, etc.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on Electronic Hardware Design Experience:Proven experience in actual hardware design, goes beyond electronics testing, verification, or technician-level work.

  • Schematic Capture & Entry:Direct, practical experience with schematic capture and entry processes (experience withCadencetoolsets is a strong plus).

  • Embedded & RF Technology Exposure:Solid understanding of embedded systems, embedded software, and familiarity with or interest in radio frequency (RF) design.

  • PCB Design Fundamentals:Familiarity with the fundamentals of PCB layout and circuit simulation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational boundaries and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams (Software, Mechanical, Optical, and Manufacturing).

  • Clear Technical Communication:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex technical details or issues succinctly for the immediate team.

Pay Range:

$74,160.00 - $111,240.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
