Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design Electrical systems for large municipal buildings, water and wastewater facilities, petroleum refineries, and manufacturing plants.
  • Perform electrical load calculations using load calculation software (Excel, SKM, ETAP, Easy Power).
  • Perform system modeling and calculation.
  • Modify and/or design sequences of operations for relaying, PLC Controls, building automation.
  • Understand major electrical components and their operations (motors, transformers, switchgear, VFDs).
  • Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for projects.
  • Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects.
  • Understand the design sequence (SD, DD, and CD).
  • Develop technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with Bath's mechanical engineers internally and communicate well with outside architects, engineers and contractors.
  • Respond to RFI's
  • Review contractor submittals.
  • Conduct and/or attend site meetings.
  • Perform site observation tours and prepare reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in at least one state.
    Prefer candidate who has a NCEES record because that speeds comity or reciprocity in other states.
  • At least 10 years' engineering experience (preferably working for consulting engineering firm).
  • At least 5 years' experience managing engineering teams and/or departments.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI).
  • Computer literate (preferably comfortable using engineering software such as SKM or ETAP).
  • Prefer experience in substation design and coordination; high voltage; protective relay application; three-phase power systems and substation components; and lighting, load flow, voltage drop and short circuit calculation.
  • Prepare electrical systems specifications, technical drawings or topographical maps.
  • Design circuits, electrical schematics, and parts lists.
  • Write reports and compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects.
  • Provide product field training or testing services for company clients.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience leading and collaborating with other engineers.
  • Experience forming project teams, making task assignments, and supervising team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong focus on client satisfaction.

  • This is an in-office position (not a remote work position).
