Job description

Company Overview:

Crazy Maple Studio is a fast-growing company with offices in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles, focused on mobile gaming, reading, and video streaming. We are proud to have a global team that drives our innovation and success across diverse markets.

Our flagship platform, ReelShort, is the #1 vertical streaming app in the U.S., with over 5 million DAU, delivering bite-sized episodic content that keeps viewers hooked. Other standout products include Chapters, where users shape immersive stories across drama, fantasy, and romance, and My Fiction, a platform for consuming and creating serialized romance.

Weโ€™re proud to be recognized as one of the Global Most Loved Workplaces 2025, reflecting our commitment to innovation, creativity, and an employee-first culture!

Position Overview:

Crazy Maple Studio is seeking a Public Relations (PR) Coordinator to help scale our external communications function as media interest, partnerships, and earned opportunities continue to grow. Reporting to the PR Manager, this role is a key operator on the Communications teamโ€”supporting the strategy, execution, and measurement of campaigns that build ReelShortโ€™s visibility and audience across the entertainment ecosystem.

This is an operationally focused role designed to maximize the ROI of our PR efforts. The PR Coordinator will help convert media interest into placements, build the systems that allow our communications to scale, and contribute to the talent and influencer programs that extend the ReelShort brand. The ideal candidate is organized, fast-moving, and excited about the vertical storytelling space.

Responsibilities:

Media Strategy & Outreach

  • Track entertainment, media, and cultural trendsโ€”particularly those shaping the vertical storytelling spaceโ€”and surface earned media opportunities aligned with ReelShortโ€™s growth priorities
  • Build and maintain strategic media databases across entertainment, business, lifestyle, and trade press to support targeted outreach for announcements, launches, and brand campaigns
  • Drive media follow-up and placement execution, helping convert outreach into secured coverage across launches, talent moments, and partnership announcements

Communications Operations

  • Operationalize announcement rollouts by managing editorial calendars, coverage trackers, embargo timelines, and clipping reports that measure campaign impact and inform future strategy
  • Maintain the systems and documentation that allow the PR function to scaleโ€”templates, asset libraries, status trackers, and reporting workflows
  • Support the preparation of briefing materials, media kits, talking points, and post-campaign recaps

Events, Talent & Influencer Ecosystem

  • Coordinate industry event presence and activations that elevate ReelShortโ€™s visibility across the entertainment industry, including logistics, run-of-show, and on-site execution
  • Support talent and influencer coordination in partnership with internal stakeholders, helping develop the creator ecosystem that extends ReelShortโ€™s reach
  • Partner with the social media team to align earned, owned, and influencer moments around key campaigns

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related fieldโ€”or equivalent professional experience
  • Internship or 1โ€“2 years of professional experience within entertainment, media, communications, or a related agency environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-output environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional, collaborative, and proactive mindset, with sound judgment when representing the brand externally
  • Genuine interest in entertainment, media, and the vertical storytelling space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior PR agency, in-house communications, or entertainment publicity experience
  • Familiarity with media monitoring and PR tools (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater)
  • Experience supporting talent, influencer, or creator-led campaigns
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required
  • Exposure to short-form video, streaming, or mobile-first entertainment platforms

Benefits

Compensation for this role will be determined based on experience and skills. A finalized pay range will be communicated during the hiring process.
