Job description

Senior Public Relations Manager
MediaSource - Columbus, OH (Hybrid)
This isn't a role for someone who simply manages accounts. It's for a communications leader who develops people, counsels executives, earns national media attention and helps shape the future of healthcare communications.
At MediaSource, we help many of the nation's leading health systems, academic medical centers and healthcare innovators tell stories that matter. From breakthrough research and life-changing patient care to executive thought leadership, our work earns national attention - and helps improve lives.
You'll partner directly with agency leadership, influence some of healthcare's most recognizable brands and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of one of the country's leading healthcare communications firms.
What You'll Do
  • Lead strategic communications programs for nationally recognized healthcare organizations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and senior client leaders.
  • Drive national media visibility through compelling storytelling and thought leadership.
  • Coach, manage and develop a team of PR professionals.
  • Raise the quality of client work through strategic thinking, exceptional writing and collaboration.
  • Help advance AI-powered communications workflows and strengthen agency best practices.
  • Support business development and help grow client partnerships.

What We're Looking For
  • 8-12 years of public relations experience, including agency experience.
  • Success leading complex client relationships and developing communications professionals.
  • Strong media relations, executive communications and strategic planning skills.
  • Healthcare communications experience preferred.
  • A collaborative, curious leader committed to continuous improvement.

Why MediaSource?
We're building the next generation of healthcare communications by combining strategic storytelling, national media expertise and AI-powered workflows.
Unlike many agencies, our PR leaders focus on strategy, media relations and client counsel - not compiling reports or managing spreadsheets. Dedicated operations, reporting and production support allow you to spend more time doing the work that creates the greatest value.
We hire people who are curious, collaborative and eager to keep improving. We share knowledge openly, challenge ideas respectfully and give our people the autonomy to lead. If you enjoy building people, solving hard problems and contributing to something bigger than your own accounts, you'll fit right in.
You'll also work alongside some of the best healthcare media relations professionals in the business while enjoying significant opportunities for growth as MediaSource continues investing in its healthcare communications practice and leadership team.
What We Offer
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays, including a full week off during the December holiday season.
  • Eight weeks of paid family leave.
  • Competitive 401(k) with company match.
  • Comprehensive health plan with HSA.
  • Paid volunteer time.
  • Ongoing AI training and access to industry-leading communications tools.
If you're looking for more than another account management role - and you're excited to build people, strengthen clients and create meaningful impact - we'd love to meet you.
