An established multi-state plaintiff personal injury law practice is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Charlotte, North Carolina office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and is looking for long-term professional growth.
Position Summary
The Associate Attorney will manage plaintiff personal injury matters from the claims process through settlement. The role involves frequent client interaction, case strategy, negotiation, document preparation, and oversight of support staff. Limited travel and occasional court appearances may be required.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury claims.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.
  • Draft, review, and prepare demand and negotiation packages.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and other parties.
  • Handle settlement distributions, including liens, subrogation claims, and other third-party interests.
  • Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff.
  • Assist with business development and client relationship efforts.
  • Attend court proceedings as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Member in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.
  • 1-5 years of experience handling plaintiff personal injury cases in a law firm.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strong client service.
  • Experience supervising or working closely with legal support staff.
