Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the mechanical maintenance and repair of the Greensboro Complex, Greensboro Aquatic Center, and Tanger Center buildings, facilities, and fixtures. This positionย performs routine tasks and duties including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and mechanical repair work.ย 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $25.00-$30.00.

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.

About the Venue

A $94 million, state-of-the-art facility that has transformed downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, comedy shows, and all types of family entertainment. Since its grand opening in 2021, the Tanger Center has hosted over 1.4 million guests. Presented with partners Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), the First Bank Broadway Series is one of the nation's top-selling one-week Broadway series. The 3,000-seat venue is managed by the staff of the Greensboro Complex. ย 

Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and repair a variety of mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints and perform other duties as assigned.ย 
  • Maintain and repair facilities and buildings, including carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and mechanical work.ย 
  • Install electrical power, internet, and a variety of other needs as requested during show setup and the event.
  • Install, adjust, repair, and inspect heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including forced air furnaces, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
  • Install, repair, and replace electrical lighting systems; plumbing fixtures including sinks, faucets, and pipes; light bulbs; ballasts; and lights; and clear any obstructions from water and sewer lines.ย 
  • Drive company vehicles to procure supplies and materials from local vendors and operate utility/golf carts to perform maintenance activities across a multi-venue campus, including nine venues and the Tanger Center.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.ย 
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of mechanical repair experience.ย 
  • Associates degree in Mechanics or Trade Certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability toย establish and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Previous experience performing maintenance work within sports & entertainment facilities is highly desired.
