Summary:

We are seeking a senior electrical engineer for our Beaverton office who will work with a competent multi-discipline team of peers with a wide range of experience levels.

Responsibilities:

ย ย  ย Engineering studies of power and low voltage systems to survey existing conditions, evaluate capacities, and make recommendations for corrections and upgrades.
ย ย  ย Design of electrical systems ranging from simple to complex. ย Types of design include power, lighting, distribution systems, heat trace, and equipment installation designs. ย 
ย ย  ย Short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, overcurrent protective device coordination, and review of power quality and reliability.
ย ย  ย Low voltage system designs, including instrumentation and controls, telecommunications, life safety, and security systems.ย 
ย ย  ย Coordination with engineering team members, both in electrical and other disciplines.ย 
ย ย  ย Direct interface with customers for design review meetings and for engineering consultations.ย 
ย ย  ย Technical writing for specifications, sequence of operations, testing documents, and reports.

Job Requirements

ย ย  ย Thorough understanding of basic NEC requirements, including electrical clearances, circuit sizing, de-rating, motor circuit design, transformer feeder design and separation of class 1/2/3 wiring. ย 
ย ย  ย Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player. ย 
ย ย  ย Ability to both lead and follow. ย 
ย ย  ย Highly organized.ย 
ย ย  ย A general sense of responsibility and follow through. ย 
ย ย  ย Dedication and commitment; results oriented.
ย ย  ย Interest in professional growth.ย 
ย ย  ย Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.ย 
ย ย  ย Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. ย 
ย ย  ย EasyPower and SKM experience is a plus.ย 

Education and Experience:
ย ย  ย BSEE or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
ย ย  ย 7+ years of experience as an independent designer/engineer.
ย ย  ย Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
ย ย  ย PE license, or ability to obtain PE registration within six months of starting.

Please identify any relevant skills you might have, such as AutoCAD or Revit, or electrical system modeling software such as SKM or EasyPower. Please provide any past work or volunteer experience in your response, including those that may be non-engineering related.
