Required activities include planning and delivering lessons, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, administering formative and summative assessments to measure language progress, completing documentation required for compliance with state and federal guidelines, and attending regular Professional Development.
National Heritage Academies (NHA) partner schools seek to grow and empower our teachers by providing ample opportunities to learn together and from each other. A few of the ways we do this include Regional Professional Learning events that embed instructional growth with networking opportunities and monthly virtual EL specific professional learning sessions. Each EL Teacher meets regularly with the Dean of EL Program Services to receive coaching and development. Each school is supported by a dedicated EL Curriculum Specialist to provide targeted EL instructional coaching.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes daily logs of student services.

  • Reflects an awareness and acceptance of cultural differences exhibited by the students and their families.
  • Possesses those characteristics necessary for acting as an advocate for multilingual families within the school.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret student academic data.

    Company Information:
National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Founded in 1995, today NHA serves over 100 schools in nine states, with more than 65,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Our schools are designed to eliminate the achievement gap and provide school choice to families so their children are prepared for success in college, career, and life. A majority of our schools consistently outperform their local district on the state test. According to the Center for Research on Education Outcomes at Stanford University, NHA is a leading performer among charter schools and management organizations, outperforming both conventional district schools and other charter school operators.
