JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the assigned core academic content area to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies, critical thinking skills, and content knowledge necessary for success in college, career, military service, and civic life. All employees of the district are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, utilize feedback to improve instructional performance, and commit to championing the needs of our students.
Mathematics Specific
A successful Mathematics Teacher develops students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills through rigorous standards-based instruction. The teacher promotes analytical thinking, perseverance, and real-world application of mathematical concepts.
Science Specific
A successful Science Teacher engages students in inquiry-based learning experiences that develop scientific reasoning, investigation skills, and understanding of the natural world. The teacher fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision making.
English Language Arts Specific
A successful English Language Arts Teacher develops students' literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills through reading, writing, speaking, and listening experiences. REQUIREMENTS
Education Level Details
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Master's degree is preferred
License / Certification Required
Must possess or qualify and receive within 30 days of hire an appropriate Colorado educator license and endorsement applicable to the assigned teaching assignment.
Work Experience Required
Successful completion of an approved educator preparation program, student teaching experience, residency program, or equivalent experience preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities Required
Demonstrated content knowledge in assigned subject(s).
Understanding of effective secondary instructional strategies.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction and create inclusive learning environments for diverse student populations, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities.
Knowledgeable of Colorado Academic Standards and curriculum frameworks.
Bilingual endorsement preferred.
Regular attendance is essential.
