Summary
An Engineering Technician supports engineers in the development, optimization, and sustainment of X-ray tube manufacturing processes by executing technical activities, documenting results, and implementing engineering changes. The role utilizes manufacturing, test, development, and diagnostic equipment to evaluate product performance, support investigations, and justify process improvements. Responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and reporting manufacturing, quality, and reliability data to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with engineering, operations, quality, and suppliers, the technician develops and maintains manufacturing documentation, work instructions, specifications, engineering change records, and technical reports to ensure process consistency and compliance with requirements. The position supports production by reviewing nonconforming products, conducting investigations, and recommending or documenting appropriate dispositions based on technical requirements, risk, and product performance. A key focus of the role is reducing the cost of poor quality through improved manufacturing requirements, process controls, error-proofing, and corrective actions that enhance yield, reliability, and productivity.
