Who are we?
As an aircraft manufacturer, industrialist, industrial service provider and logistician, Daher currently has approximately 14,000 employees and achieved a revenue of 1.8 billion euros in 2024. With its family ownership, Daher has been focused on innovation since its creation in 1863. With locations in 15 countries across Europe, North America and Asia, Daher designs and develops value-added solutions for its aeronautical and industrial customers and partners
Daher-Kodiak is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate the integration of multi-mission systems and specialized equipment onto Kodiak aircraft. This role is responsible for overseeing integration programs through Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), as well as major and minor alteration approval pathways. Acting as the technical focal point, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Certification, Program Management, Manufacturing, and external DERs to define, substantiate, and certify system designs.
This position supports the full lifecycle of integration activities-from concept development through fleet sustainment-and requires strong systems engineering expertise, technical leadership, and hands-on execution capability.
🚀 Core Responsibilities
Integration Leadership
  • Serve as the primary technical focal for integration programs involving engineering, certification teams, DERs, and program management.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities to ensure cohesive system integration.
Systems Engineering & Design
  • Develop system requirements, interfaces, and integration constraints for mission equipment (e.g., ISR systems, supplemental communications, medical kits, special-mission payloads).
  • Create system architectures, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams, integration specs, and electrical system documentation.
  • Ensure robust configuration control and traceability through the entire design and approval lifecycle.
Certification & Compliance
  • Define and execute certification plans for STCs and major/minor alterations in accordance with 14 CFR Part 23 and FAA policies.
  • Prepare compliance artifacts: test plans, analysis reports, system safety documents (FHA/SSA/FMEA), and compliance statements.
  • Support conformity inspections, ground tests, and flight testing activities; coordinate with DERs and FAA involvement when needed.
Sustainment & Fleet Support
  • Investigate and resolve field-reported integration issues.
  • Develop customer-driven system improvements and service modifications.
  • Provide technical support for multi-mission fleet configurations and upgrades.
Cross-Functional & Supplier Collaboration
  • Support production with installation guidance, manufacturability feedback, and process improvements.
  • Manage component obsolescence and determine redesign/alternative solutions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and mission-system OEMs to ensure equipment compatibility and qualification.

🛠 Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in aircraft systems integration, avionics/electrical design, or aerospace systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems architecture and avionics integration.
  • Experience supporting STC programs or major/minor alterations.
  • Proficiency in creating system architecture documents, ICDs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 and FAA certification processes.
  • Familiarity with DO-160 environmental qualification requirements.
  • Understanding of system safety processes (FHA, SSA, FMEA).

✨ Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating with DERs or FAA ACO/MIDO offices.
  • Prior involvement in ground and flight testing of avionics/electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of PLM tools (Teamcenter preferred).
  • CAD proficiency for system or EWIS design (harness layout, routing, documentation).
  • Experience with mission equipment, special-purpose aircraft configurations, or avionics integration.

⚙️ Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Requires both office and aircraft/production environment work.
  • Occasional exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, or airborne particles.
  • Ability to support flight test environments, including hot/cold weather, airborne operations, and variable g-loading.
