This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Engineering Technician at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.Qualifications:Who May Apply: US Citizens
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Specialized experience including technical work in the areas such as: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems.
OR
Experience in a trade or craft that work required intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents for example trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as: Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes or an Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated.
OR
Certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, an organization sponsored by the National Society of Professional Engineers.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-12:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Preparing plans, designs, and specifications required for approved special projects involving maintenance, repair, alteration or construction in support of installation mission and tenant activities, 2.) Prepare projects for accomplishment of open-ended architectural/engineering (A-E) design/study development contracts, 3.) Performing facility and infrastructure inspections or evaluations, AND 4.) Preparing contract documentation for work, estimates, contracts, and delivery orders for projects within the Directorate of Public Works.
GS-11
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1. Preparing plans, designs, and specifications required for approved special projects involving maintenance, repair, alteration or construction in support of installation mission and tenant activities, 2. Performing facility and infrastructure inspections or evaluations, AND 3. Preparing contract documentation for work, estimates, contracts, and delivery orders for projects within the Directorate of Public Works.
GS-10
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Knowledge and experience of heating ,air-conditioning, machinery, piping, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, fire protection, excavation, shoring, lighting, and similar types of equipment and systems., AND 2.) render technical assistance in the overall planning of constructions and renovation projects which include the planning and scheduling the work with the contractor.
