Job description

Our client, a leading organization in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Leader to join their team. As a Manufacturing Engineering Leader, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting manufacturing and technical teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Leader

Location: Seymour, Connecticut

Pay Range:  $145,000 - $175,000

What's the Job?

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership across manufacturing and technical operations within a high-mix EMS environment.
  • Drive operational excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) metrics to ensure scalable processes and optimized asset utilization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing principles, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance product design for manufacturability and support new product introductions (NPI).
  • Oversee production planning, capacity modeling, and equipment effectiveness to maximize throughput and efficiency.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • 8-10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience within the EMS industry.
  • Deep understanding of high-mix EMS manufacturing processes including SMT, through-hole, test, and box build operations.
  • Expertise in production planning systems, capacity modeling, and ERP/MRP tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills with a focus on team development and operational excellence.
