Job description

  • Serve as the direct line supervisor for a team of design engineers
  • Provide oversight to design engineers, including task assignments, employee performance, and group results
  • Lead the design of Compression Systems Engineering hardware through preliminary and detailed design, validation, certification, and support of manufacturing and operational service
  • Set priorities, allocate resources, review and approve design documentation, and supervise staff to meet safety, quality, and schedule needs
  • Support multi-discipline teams in developing design solutions balancing durability, performance, cost, and weight
  • Identify and manage risks and resolve technical problems
  • Coach, train, and develop design engineers' technical capabilities
  • Recruit, retain, and manage the performance of design engineers
  • Develop team functional expertise to meet current and future business needs
  • Evaluate staffing and resource metrics with business managers, discipline directors, and CIPT Leadership
  • Ensure adequate resource plans are in place
  • Travel up to 10%
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 8 years of design engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in Engineering with 5 years of design engineering experience
  • Experience with CAD solid modeling (UG NX) and other modeling and analysis tools
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
