As the technical expert in CADD for the District 58 Design Section, you will design highly complex, specialized highway design projects while enforcing state and federal standards
This position is located in Franklin Parish, District 58/Unit 170 and report to the Design Engineer. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or GED plus four years of sub-professional engineering experience; OR Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance plus four years of sub-professional engineering experience; OR Twenty-four semester hours in one of the following specialized fields: architecture, cartography, construction management, construction technology, drafting, engineering, engineering graphics, engineering technology, industrial technology, landscape architecture, math, or physics; OR A bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management or construction technology. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties Deliver technical guidance, train staff in calculations and drawings, and audit their work for accuracy. Operate specialized desktop and online programs, including CADD, ProjectWise, CES, and Transport, to execute and track projects. Provide specific instructions to survey crews to ensure accurate field data collection for active design projects.
Plan and conduct strategic meetings with external agencies and attend Plan-In-Hand reviews to resolve design conflicts. Complete continuous high-level technical training in critical disciplines like hydraulics, surveying, and computer-aided drafting. Support emergency/disaster response activities when needed Position-Specific Details: Compensation: Annual Salary of $53,498.00- $96,325.00 This position receives Premium Pay of an additional $1.00/hourly for every hour worked
Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy. Appointment Type: Promotional This position is open only to current permanent classified DOTD employees and may be filled by detail to special duty.
