Job description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking a combined Engineering and Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at an independent school in the Baltimore area.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching assigned and elective engineering/math courses across middle and upper school.
  • Advisory, service learning, or mentorship role.
  • Office Hours weekly.
  • Robust professional development throughout the year.
  • Opportunities for athletic coaching and travel.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of teaching experience at the middle or upper school level.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Applied Engineering; Math or advanced degree preferred.)
  • Experience with project-based learning, design thinking, and hands-on, build-oriented instruction.
  • Ability to connect with and inspire students.
  • Desire and ability to collaborate on curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects .
  • Excellent people skills and strong communication abilities (oral and written.)
  • Mastery of Google Workspace for Education and comfort with new technologies (e.g., CAD, fabrication tools, or coding platforms is a plus.)
  • Experience working with high-achieving or gifted students is an asset.
