The Engineer Leader 1 (EL1) supports, participates in, and leads projects/programs while building client trust and validating a world class solution. The EL1 leads engineering best practices across several disciplines and has experience with coaching and mentoring concepts and methods.
Responsibilities
  • Leading complex technical discussions, projects, and/or programs.
  • Validating world class technical solutions on projects.
  • Ensuring engineering best practices are followed across multiple engineering and solution disciplines.
  • Managing technical risk on a project.
  • Providing oversight, direction, and technical expertise to engineering teams on a project.
  • Leading an engineering discipline to develop new and upcoming engineers and technical experts.
  • Preparing client-specific solutions.
  • Driving the development and maintenance of project artifacts that are required to ensure success for a project.
  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing work process improvements.
  • Reviewing technical project details with project leadership.
  • Managing the integration of data from multiple company systems and analyzing the data to draw insights on project technical solution.
  • Ensuring safety regulations are adhered to and issues identified and resolved.
  • Maintaining a positive, assertive relationship with project engineers to achieve project milestones and overall project success.

Qualifications
Education, Experience & Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics preferably from an ABET accredited program with 7+ years of experience in any Engineering discipline with Construction experience OR
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics preferably from an ABET accredited program with 5+ years of experience in any Engineering discipline with Construction experience

The Engineering Leader 1 preferred education and training is:
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certification
  • Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) training
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) training

The Engineering Leader 1 required skills are:
  • Strong knowledge of one or more technologies and various application methods.
  • Experience with collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to lead and participate in technical discussions with project leadership.
  • Ability to lead the application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for one or more specific branches of engineering to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Strong Knowledge cost estimation.
  • Strong knowledge of finance systems and basic principles of finance management.
  • Ability to design, build, and development of a new product, technology, or service
  • Ability to calculate and present the costs of a project when budgeting.
  • Ability to develop and maintain trust and trusting relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding
  • Applied experience in developing and providing solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Tools Experience MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) MS Outlook Mail Engineering Document Management System (EDMS) Microsoft Visio SharePoint SureTrak
