The Cytology Laboratory Supervisor assists the Lab Manager by providing oversight of day to day operations in cytology laboratory.
Qualifications
Certifications: Cytologist (CT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Cytotechnology; Bachelor's Degree: Biological Science, Work Experience: 3yrs of Pathology laboratory
Responsibilities
Provides support to, and serves as backup for the Lab Manager.Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations in the clinical laboratory.Leads initiatives at the direction/discretion of the Lab Manager.Overall responsibility for regulatory preparedness in area of oversight (working with lab leadership and staff).Ongoing monitoring of quality and performance metrics.Complete performance evaluations and ongoing supervision of personnel in area of oversight.Deliver disciplinary action and developmental action plans as warranted.Assists with operating and capital budget preparation and monthly expense variance reporting.Ensures appropriate staffing and reassign staff as dictated by workload. Monitors turn-around-time reports and implements corrective action to ensure the established timeframes are consistently met. Helps assess and recommend new instrumentation. Ensures implementation studies, LIS validation and staff training take place when new instrumentation and tests are implemented. Performs performance evaluations for staff. Evaluates CAP checklists and ensures compliance with all regulations. Monitors quality metrics and implements corrective action as needed to ensure all quality goals are met.

The compensation range for this position is $41.28per hour - $71per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
