Structural Engineer
Department: Structural

Compensation: $85,000 - $111,000 / year
Description
The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design and documentation of structural systems for residential and commercial projects. This role applies sound engineering principles, applicable codes, and industry standards to produce accurate calculations, drawings, and technical specifications. The Structural Engineer collaborates with internal project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure coordinated, constructible, and cost-effective structural solutions. This position supports projects through all phases of design and construction, contributing to timely delivery, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.
Duties Include
Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, retaining walls, and other structural elements using applicable codes and engineering standards.
Prepare detailed structural calculations, plans, reports, and technical specifications for residential and commercial projects.
Develop design details and construction documents that clearly communicate structural intent and requirements.
Coordinate with internal disciplines and external consultants to ensure consistency and integration of structural designs within the overall project.
Take design responsibility for assigned projects or components, managing scope, schedule, and budget considerations related to structural design.
Support the development and maintenance of drafting, design, and project standards.
Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews of structural deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and construction-related documentation.
Support construction activities by responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing submittals, conducting job site visits, and addressing field conditions.
Prepare or assist with inspection reports and design review documentation, as required.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout all project phases.
Limited travel is required and may include occasional overnight travel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed professional engineer (PE) in the state of Florida
Supervisory experience of structural designers or engineering interns
Experience with vertical construction projects
Ability to perform site investigations and assessments
Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek VantagePoint and Smartsheet or similar software's platforms.

Proficiency in structural design and analysis.
Strong knowledge of structural detailing and familiarity with commercial retail, restaurants, grocery stores, industrial, and office buildings.
Ability to produce detailed Design Development and Construction Documents.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
Valid stated-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
