Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight.

As part of a hardworking team, interns work directly with Blue engineering teams on projects in support of our business units.

Test Engineering Internship Projects-Our interns gain hands-on test experience! Your project may include design, analysis, test planning and operation of test systems for testing fluid, propulsion, mechanical, avionics software, structures, GNC and electronic systems. Some projects will involve working at a test stand and will include working at heights.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.

  • Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (obtained sophomore standing).

  • Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework.

  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong interest in Blue Origin's mission.

Desired: We would love to see the following experience!

  • Test environment experience.

  • Fluid Mechanics, thermodynamics and/or propulsion systems.

  • Component test, FEA, CFD.

  • MATLAB or Simulink.

  • Programming languages including Python, C/C++.

  • Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.

  • Hands-on project experience.

  • Co-curricular engagement.


We offer housing and relocation support. Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from their work locations.

Hourly compensation for applicant is: $32.00

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
