Job description

Pennoni is a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm founded more than five decades ago. Our goal is to help communities and private sector clients alike navigate the ever-changing technological advancements available and learn how best to integrate "smart" solutions into the current landscape to make them a part of resilient and sustainable planning. Our combination of talent and experience generates unprecedented solutions for diverse and iconic projects around the globe.
Pennoni is currently seeking an Engineering Intern to assist on multi-discipline designs for public & private site development projects while based at our office in Princeton, NJ. This position will primarily support Staff and Project-level Engineers in all aspects of projects (including conceptual/planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documents, and engineering reports).
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist Project Engineers in the preparation of land development plans for public & private clients.
  • Contribute to the preparation of site plans; this includes site grading, stormwater management [SWM], and utility design for proposed land development projects.
  • Assist with the preparation of permit applications & reports.
  • Work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment under the supervision of a Senior Professional Engineer.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirement:
In order to qualify, we need you to be enrolled in a relevant Engineering-oriented field of study (e.g.: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, etc.) at an ABET-accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to relevant CADD & Engineering software tools (e.g.: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • This person will also be expected to utilize basic office software tools: MS-Office 365 (e.g.: Outlook, Excel, and Word) as well as Adobe PDF applications.
  • Exposure to land development, water resources engineering, and/or stormwater management design projects is a plus!
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
