Job description

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspectors in and around the Orlando Florida, FL area. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our construction engineering and inspection business while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Opportunities for growth and training into construction management and office engineering careers.
Essential Functions
  • Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
  • Monitor the activities of other Inspectors
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
  • Recordkeeping and reporting as required

Required Skills and Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) year of which shall have been in roadway construction inspection
  • Must have the following as required by the scope of work for the project:
    • Qualifications
      • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
      • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
      • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I and Level II
      • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I and Level II
      • CTQP Drilled Shaft
      • CTQP Final Estimates I
      • FDOT Intermediate MOT

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Previous roadway asphalt inspection experience
  • Critical Structures Construction Issues certification
  • FDOT Self Study Computer Based Training (e.g. MSE Wall Inspector)

Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs. Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
