Job description

Job Title: Cost Estimator
Work Location: Panama City, FL (Tyndall AFB)
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Develops cost estimates based on scopes of work for post-award construction contract changes such as engineering or construction changes
  • Participate in bid opening and negotiation meetings
  • Prepare, evaluate and review engineering estimates
  • Develops cost estimates for projects from feasibility to construction; recommends consideration of changes in plans which may result in greater economy through substitution of materials or simplification of construction
  • Prepare detailed cost analysis
  • Maintains files of current material prices and construction equipment costs obtained from quotations by suppliers

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense
  • Experience with Micro-Computer Automated Cost Estimating System, Second Generation (MII) estimating software for detail estimates and the current version of Parametric Cost Estimating System (PACES) estimating software, preferred
  • Certified CCP or CEP or equivalent through organizations such as AACE, ICEC, PCEA preferred
