Position: Test and Balance Assistant Technician
Key Responsibilities:
  • Professional Standards: Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety policies at all times.
  • Coordination: Update project schedules, coordinate technician calendars, and communicate project expectations and commitments.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, teammates, and the Operations Manager regarding project status, scope changes, and manpower needs.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate documentation of project statuses, field data, and scope completion.
  • Technical Proficiency: Assist team members with loading and unloading work vehicles, setting up, assembling, and disassembling equipment required for project tasks.
  • Engagement: Show engagement with colleagues through active participation in on-the-job training, learning TAB terminology, and proactively assisting with tasks.
  • Safety: Demonstrate ladder safety, proper use of tools, and adherence to OSHA safety requirements.
  • Field Expertise: Perform accurate measurements, troubleshoot systems, and ensure proper documentation and sealing of test locations.
  • Equipment Handling: Know how to use flow hoods, wrist reporters, transducers, and other test instruments.
  • Data Recording: Read and record CFM, air pressures, velocity, and temperatures accurately.
  • Mechanical Drawings: Identify common air distribution and mechanical dampers on drawings, and adjust balance dampers accordingly.
  • Troubleshooting: Understand basic troubleshooting skills and apply them effectively.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or higher
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and proficient computer skills
  • Valid license with a clean driving record
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team
  • Comply with OSHA safety requirements and complete pre-hire screenings

Physical Demands:
  • Frequent lifting or carrying of 20 to 50 pounds
  • Extended periods of driving or riding in a vehicle
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions, and distracting or uncomfortable noise levels
  • Frequent use of hands, sitting, talking, hearing, and standing throughout the day
  • Climbing, reaching above shoulder height, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling frequently
  • Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 75 pounds)
  • Working ten-hour shifts, and possibly twelve-hour days based on job/business needs
