Responsibilities
- Create inspection plans based on engineering drawings and perform inspections of mechanical parts in accordance with established procedures.
- Design inspection fixtures and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Mechanical Engineering to resolve quality and manufacturing issues.
- Implement risk-based tool calibration processes.
- Assist in managing the Quality Management System (QMS), including:
- AS9100 external audits
- Internal audits
- Corrective actions
- Document management
- Supplier audits
- Provide assistance in solving manufacturing problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in one of the following disciplines:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Quality Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Another related engineering degree with relevant technical experience
- Three or more years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
- Experience using metrology tools and inspection equipment.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to inspect machined parts in accordance with established procedures.
- Ability to analyze quality issues objectively and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- AS9100 experience.
- Six Sigma and/or Lean training.
- Formal GD&T training.
- SolidWorks experience.
- Experience designing or building inspection fixtures.
- Prior inspection experience.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience.
