Job description

Dewey Engineering is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our Nashville team and assist with a variety of land planning and land development projects. Responsibilities will include assisting with projects from initial concept through construction documents, preparing site layouts, grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans, performing stormwater and drainage calculations, and assisting with water, sewer, and utility design. The position will also involve preparing plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, quantity takeoffs and earthwork calculations, permitting and coordination with local agencies, and working with surveyors, architects, developers, contractors, and other consultants.


The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. An EIT or PE certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain. Candidates should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, an interest in land development and site design, and strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, willing to learn, comfortable working as part of a small team, and interested in building a long-term career in civil engineering.
