Job description

Provides technical engineering support and expertise to the sales team and customers regarding design for manufacturing (DFM). Collaborates with the sales team and customers to understand customer requirements, recommends design improvements to improve the manufacturability of products, and provides technical guidance throughout the sales process.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Conducts detailed analyses of customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine the feasibility of manufacturing proposed products or components.
  2. Partners with the estimating team to prepare detailed quotations and technical proposals in response to customer inquiries and requests for quote (RFQs).
  3. Collaborates with operations and suppliers to develop manufacturing technologies and solutions to support business development.
  4. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the company's manufacturing processes, equipment capabilities, material properties, and industry standards to provide accurate and reliable technical advice.
  5. Assists the sales team with customer presentations as a technical resource.
  6. Collaborates with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and quality control, to ensure the customer's needs are met.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned, which may include leading projects of varying scale or scope.

Job Skill Requirements
  • Comprehensive understanding of metal fabrication processes, such as welding, forming, machining, and finishing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and design software (e.g., CAD, CAM).
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify technical issues and resolve them accordingly.

Educational Requirements
