Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Batesville, AR (On-Site)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support manufacturing operations, utilities, and maintenance functions within a complex industrial production environment. This position will play a key role in process improvements, capital projects, equipment reliability, and engineering support activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, experience in manufacturing facilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating across departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing, utilities, and maintenance operations.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Design and support mechanical process systems and equipment installations.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and feasibility assessments.
  • Manage capital improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • Evaluate and specify mechanical equipment, including pumps, piping systems, heat exchangers, centrifuges, pressure relief devices, and related industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support equipment reliability, production efficiency, and plant optimization efforts.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, capacity, product yield, and operational performance.
  • Assist with facility layouts, equipment placement, and occasional civil or structural design activities.
  • Apply engineering and economic analysis principles to justify project investments.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with industrial process equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of pumps, piping systems, pressure systems, flow calculations, and equipment design.
  • Experience supporting capital projects and process improvement initiatives.
