Job description

Pinnacle Engineering is a structural engineering firm with a reputation for quality work and client satisfaction. Our work includes many types of projects including retail, religious, healthcare, multi-family, and high-end single-family residences. We also work as specialty structural engineers on structural insulated panels, heavy timber framing, and other structural systems. Our culture/mission is to provide a high-quality work product to our clients with designs that are economical and safe while maintaining a relaxed, quiet, and professional work environment for our employees. Projects are located in forty-five states, but significant travel is not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Interact with current and potential clients, establish scopes of work for projects, manage project schedules, and sign/seal your construction documents.
  • Structural Design: Provide accurate, appropriately detailed calculations for structural systems typically in steel, concrete, wood and masonry; supervise creation of construction documents for these projects in accordance with company standards.
  • Structural Analysis/Investigation: Visit project sites to field measure structure; investigate existing construction to ascertain structural conditions; use collected information and provide calculations as necessary to render opinions regarding structural condition and feasibility of additions or renovations as directed by the Client; and provide thorough, professionally written letters and reports documenting work.
  • Software: Model structures in engineering software as necessary to accomplish the work above.
  • Report to the project principals to keep them informed on project progress.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience or more in structural engineering
  • Registration in at least one state with the ability to become registered in others
  • Bachelor of Science degree in structural engineering, civil engineering or architectural engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from an ABET accredited institution (Master of Science degree is a plus)
  • Good communications and writing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing priorities
  • Salary based on skills and qualifications (exempt position with straight time pay for overtime)
