To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an X-Ray Structural Test Engineer located in Austin, TX.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do...

  • Write and debug automated x-ray inspection programs on ViTrox V810, ViTrox QX1 x-ray inspection systems.
  • Perform manual x-ray inspections on Nordson Dage x-ray inspection systems.
  • Monitor and audit real time program performance and make corrections.
  • Provide feedback to SMT, PTH, and pressfit operations on component/board level performance for continuous process improvement.
  • Work with and provide guidance to x-ray operators to increase their accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide technical assistance to process and product engineering for future designs and existing product improvements.
  • Work extensively with x-ray equipment manufacturer to improve defect detection capabilities, improve machine reliability and work on other mutually beneficial assignments.

Here is some of what you'll need (required)...

  • 1-2-year prior experience in writing and debugging automated x-ray inspection programs.
  • Awareness of SMT and PTH soldering processes in manufacturing.
  • Awareness of IPC and other electronic manufacturing standards and processes, and how they apply to various classes of products (i.e. medical, automotive).
  • Creativity and awareness of new technologies/ techniques along with "out of the box" thinking.
  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills.
  • Experience working with PC and networks along with the ability to do basic trouble shooting.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from engineers, managers, and customers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • Flexibility and availability to help the teammates.
