Engineer Xray information

What is an Engineer Xray?

Engineer Xray typically refers to professionals who specialize in the design, operation, and maintenance of X-ray equipment and systems used in various industries, such as healthcare, security, or manufacturing. Their work involves ensuring the safe and effective use of X-ray technology, troubleshooting equipment issues, and sometimes developing new imaging solutions. These engineers often collaborate with medical staff, security personnel, or industrial teams to optimize imaging results and maintain regulatory compliance. They must be knowledgeable about radiation safety and the technical aspects of X-ray machinery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Engineer Xray?

To thrive as an Engineer Xray, you need a strong background in electrical or biomedical engineering, physics, and a relevant degree or certification in radiological sciences. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging equipment, X-ray generation systems, safety protocols, and specialized maintenance tools is essential. Problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication are important soft skills for troubleshooting and collaborating with healthcare staff. These skills and qualities ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and patient safety in medical imaging environments.

How does an Engineer Xray typically collaborate with radiologists and medical staff in a clinical setting?

Engineer Xray professionals frequently work alongside radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure diagnostic imaging equipment functions optimally and safely. Collaboration often involves troubleshooting technical issues, providing training on equipment use, and implementing maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as engineers must quickly address any technical concerns raised by clinical staff to support timely and accurate patient care.

Systems Engineer
The Opportunity:
When Air Force personnel depend on hardware systems like radars, navigation aids, shelters, sensors, electronics, and structural elements, they expect reliability and safe operation in demanding environments. Validating that performance requires hands-on engineering, disciplined test planning, and the ability to evaluate complex systems throughout their lifecycle. That's why we need a Test Engineer like you with experience in hardware and systems testing to help assess, verify, and sustain mission-critical Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS).
As a Hardware Test Engineer, you'll support RDT&E efforts across system, subsystem, and component-level testing. You'll develop test strategies, trace engineering requirements, and execute testing involving functional checks, component diagnostics, environmental evaluation, durability testing, and NDI or NDT assessments. You'll investigate anomalies, participate in failure analyses, and collaborate with government test organizations to document results and validate improvements.
Work with us as we help ensure the reliability and availability of critical systems supporting global air operations.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience performing hardware, system, or component-level testing
  • Experience developing and executing hardware or system-level test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Experience validating engineering requirements in lab, field, or operationally representative environments
  • Experience with instrumentation, diagnostics, or troubleshooting physical components
  • Experience supporting developmental or operational testing
  • Ability to assess system behavior, identify risks, and communicate technical findings clearly
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field such as Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with NDI or NDT methods such as ultrasonic, eddy-current, X-ray, and thermal
  • Experience with environmental, reliability, lifecycle, or endurance testing
  • Experience with prototype evaluation, qualification testing, or environmental chamber testing
  • Experience with ATCALS systems, avionics hardware, radars, or ground-based navigation systems
  • Experience supporting structural or materials testing
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Engineering Certifications

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
